Huduma Fund

Shirati Huduma workers ( “Huduma” means ‘service’ in Swahili)

The Palliative Care team in Shirati is a small group of medical professionals seeking to care for seriously or terminally ill patients in a broad, rural, poor area. Their ability to reach needy individuals in outlying villages is dependent on a group of individuals in these villages who volunteer to assist. This includes identifying those in their villages who need help, communicating with and coordinating care with the team, assisting with transportation and village visits, and sometimes doing simple hands-on care. To support these Huduma workers, we are seeking those who would donate toward a small stipend for each worker ($30 US dollars a month). If you want to donate specifically for this purpose, please designate ‘Huduma Support’ on your donation.
